Fal River Festival

24th May - 2nd June 2019

This year’s fantastic Fal River Festival takes place between the 24th May and the 2nd June and will once again provide a variety of events including music, drama, arts and gig racing. The diverse mix of events taking place throughout the 10 days located at many of places around the River Fal makes the festival the the perfect opportunity to engage with life on the river and discover some fantastic history.

Loe Beach Regatta

1st June 2019

A local Regatta for all types of sailing dinghies and yachts in various classes and a great atmosphere on and off the water. This regatta has been an annual event since the 19th century and it is organised by the St Feock & Pill Creek Regatta Association. The entrants are usually a mixture of yachts and boats from the traditional timber built Falmouth working boats and old gaffers to the modern fibre glass yachts and dinghies. 

Falmouth Classics

14th - 16th June 2019

This year’s Falmouth Classics takes place between 22nd and 24th June 2018 – these water based activities complement the shore-based Sea Shanty Festival so Falmouth is definitely the place to be in June for classics weekend! Classic vessels on the water will include the Pilot Gigs, Pilot Cutters and Luggers, Trawlers and Falmouth Working Boats, Gaffers and Bermudans, One Designs and Varied Designs, Racers and Non-Racers. Whether Competitor or Spectator, all are welcome at Falmouth’s annual get together of Classic Boats.

Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival

14th - 16th June 2019

Falmouth town plays host to many different shanty singing performances by over 50 Shanty groups. There are also tickets available for the special Gala Concert, with proceeds going to the RNLI. Falmouth will be filled with music, singing and infused with a great community spirit. The Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival is held at multiple venues throughout the town with main stages being Seasalt Stage on Custom House Quay, Skinners Stage on Events Square (Discovery Quay) and Seven Stars Stage on The Moor. 

Looe Lugger Regatta

5th - 7th July 2019

Falmouth Week

9th - 18th August 2018

One of the best sailing regattas in the country as Falmouth hosts events both on and off the water, a great week of racing for keelboats, traditional craft and dinghies in the waters off Falmouth Bay, the Carrick Roads and the harbour. Wednesday is Champagne Day, a race for the big yachts with a 25 mile coastal course finishing in the inner harbour, whilst smaller boats race in the Carrick Roads.

Percuil Regatta

25th August 2019

A fun village Regatta started from a Committee Boat in the beautiful Percuil river setting. Classes include Optimists, handicap dinghies, Shrimpers, Ajaxes and Sunbeams. Courses set appropriate to the class of boat and crew, extending into the Carrick Roads for larger craft.

Portscatho Regatta

25th August 2018

A traditional regatta with a full programme of sailing over an exciting and highly visible course in beautiful Gerrans Bay and featuring a passage race from the Fal, plus various water-sports (swimming, canoeing, raft-racing), together with shore-based fun activities such as sandcastle-building and races for all ages on Tatam’s Beach.

Falmouth Oyster Festival

11th - 14th October 2018

Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt. Each year, festival goers can enjoy a cookery master-class from a celebrity chef, together with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, children’s shell painting, sea shanties, a town parade, and live music, an oyster shucking competition, a Falmouth Working Boat race and marquees brimming with Cornish produce. The Falmouth Oyster Festival is a must for all oyster, seafood and maritime heritage enthusiasts!
